Entrepreneurial activity remains at low level in Russia
The Global Entrepreneurship Monitor, GEM research results are declared. The website of Association of Entrepreneurship of Bashkortostan Republic informs about it.
By results of the international research, in 2012 Russia occupied the 67th place among 69 countries-participants of the project by quantity of people involved in creation and management of the new companies.
Only every 23rd Russian (4,3 %) at able-bodied age is an early businessman (less than three years fr om the moment of the enterprise creation). Entrepreneurship still plays a smaller role in economy of Russia not only in comparison with the BRICS countries where every 8th inhabitant opens a business, but also in comparison with the countries of Eastern Europe wh ere every 11th does this.
Authors of the research explain the reasons of unpopularity of entrepreneurship in Russia not only with economy structure, but also with negative estimation by the population of possibilities for a business start. Only 13 % of citizens consider these conditions as favourable.
Basing on results of the Russian part of research, experts make a conclusion that considerable growth in the Russian entrepreneurial sector is not expected in the next years.
Only 3,8 % of Russians plan to create their own business during the next three years. For comparison in the BRICS countries this indicator makes on average about 21 %, and in countries of Eastern Europe — 24 %.
It turns out that programs of the business state support available in the regions do not give yet the intended effect.
