Consumer confidence index has essentially decreased in Russia – VCIOM
Essential decrease in consumer confidence index in 2012 after long growth throughout last several years was fixed by the Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VTSIOM). By September the indicator made 50 points, and by December decreased to 43 points.
VCIOM connects the falling of index with reduction of share of Russians considering present time successful for large purchases – from 39 % to 35 %. Simultaneously with it the number of those who name the current period adverse for this purpose became greater – from 48 % to 52 %.
The present index weight coincides with the two-year-old indicator value.
The credit confidence index showed negative dynamics too, though it was not so obvious. In December it made 32 points, having lost two points since September. Obtaining of credit seems to respondents even more inexpedient, than large purchases making: 66 % of interrogated consider present time for this purpose as unfavourable. Two years ago the indicator was approximately at the same level – 33 points.
1600 people took part in the interrogation – inhabitants of 138 settlements of 46 Russian regions. The statistical error does not exceed 3,4 %.
