Paradoxes and prospects of local self-government
A congress of municipal formations RB will be opened in Ufa today and on the eve of this event the President RB Rustem Khamitov gave an interview to republican mass-media.
According to Russian Constitution local self-government is separated from the state and citizens are righteous to solve local problems self-dependently. But in reality everything looks much more complicated – citizens of many territories aren’t eager to use this right and many representatives of power structures mistakenly consider local self-government a continuation of state machinery. In the interview Rustem Khamitov is talking about paradoxes and prospects of local self-government and setting forth his opinion concerning further development of local self-government bodies.
