Ufa poet Alexander Maryin became the winner of the IX All-Russia open festival of young poets "Mtsyri" and the owner of "Poetic Oscar".
Members of the "Board of festival judges" voted for the victory of Ufa native, among which were science fiction writer Andrey Scherbak-Zhukov, poet Dmitry Darin, the winner of the festival "Mtsyri — 2009" Alexey Shmelev.
In the competitive part of the festival participants represent traditional poetic forms and small prosaic works (poems in prose, essays, sketches, stories), and also author's works with musical illustrations — songs and romances. Before getting into the final of the festival Alexander Maryin won the Volga region round leaving behind his colleagues-writers from Bashkortostan.
This year the winners of regional rounds struggled for the rank of the best poet of contemporaneity : Semeon Isaev from Belarus, Dmitry Baranov from Penza, Kyril Aleksandrov from Ufa, Andrey Hityov and Andrey Savkin from the Samara Region, Maria Sklyarova from Rostov-on-Don, Andrey Orlovsky from Odessa and Egor Trufanov from Khabarovsk.
It should be marked that except the "Mtsyri" statuette Alexander Maryin was awarded the diploma from the literary application to "Nezavisimaya Gazeta" "ExLibris" with the right for publication of verses in this edition.
