Ufa needs new TV tower and without its erection the turn to digital broadcasting is impossible.
“The old TV tower was erected still in 1959. Now 14 analogue TV channels broadcast from it and it is practically impossible to mount additional digital equipment there” – the director of local filial of the federal state company “Russian TV and radio broadcasting network” Uri Matveev stated at the meeting of directors of the company’s filials from Volga and Ural federal districts, held in Ufa. During two days – November 28 and 29 – they will sum up the totals of implementation of the federal goal-oriented program “Development of TV and radio broadcasting in Russian Federation in 2009-2015”. The all-round turn to the digital broadcasting from analogous one is planned within its frames.
“At present time we are turning from the content, oriented to a mass consumer, to the content, which a consumer can form self-dependently, choosing the variants, which suit him in the best way, and it is impossible without development of corresponding infrastructure and our task is to make such infrastructure” – the head of IT Agency RB Ildar Yamalov mentioned.
As the news agency “Bashinform” reported earlier, the present stage of the program presumes opening of the first digital pack, consisting of ten obligatory free TV-channels: “The First Channel”, “Russia-1”, “NTV”, “The 5th channel”, “Russia-2”, “Russia-Culture”, “Russia-24” and the children channel “Merry-Go-Round” and some others. The channel of the Public TV will be the tenth and by 2015 the number of free digital TV-channels should amount to at least 20.
