Representatives of Bashkortostan take part in the VIII meeting of Eurasian Islamic Council, held in Istanbul these days. Press service of the Central Clerical Muslim Dept of Russia reports leading religious and public activists of Europe, Asia and Africa take part in the meeting. Bashkir delegation consists of the chairman of the council for state and inter-confessional relations under the President RB Vyacheslaw Pyatkov, the chairman of the Central Clerical Muslim Dept of Russia, Supreme Mufti Talgat Tadjuddin and the chairman of the Clerical Muslim Dept RB Nurmukhamet Nigmatullin.
Talgat Tadjuddin has already made a report about the past of Islam in Eurasia, about today’s positions of Islam in Russia and about prospects of its development.
Problems of Islamic phobia as a crime on the ground of hatred at international level, introduction of the unified Muslim calendar and modernization of Islamic education will be under consideration in Istanbul. Besides, such problems as Islamic traditions in Eurasia – from the past to the future, the experience of coexistence in Eurasia and the future of Eurasian Muslims will be discussed too. Participants of the forum will analyze the work in sphere of religious service and education and on the base of the obtained results the exchange of opinions and elaboration of foundation for determination of the spheres of joint activity are planned.
