In 2012, despite the drought it was managed to gather quite a rich crop in Bashkortostan.
“Bashkortostan always was and will be one of leading agrarian regions of the country. Because of the drought the volume of gross agricultural output following the results of nine months made 82,3 billion roubles in the republic. It is only 81,7 % to the last year's level,” the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov marked at the solemn meeting in the Ufa Congress Hall devoted to the Day of Agricultural Workers RB on November 8.
Nevertheless, farmers of the republic collected about two million tons of grain, 930 thousand tons of sugar beet, 140 thousand tons of sunflower, 900 thousand tons of potato and more than 260 thousand tons of vegetables. It is important that the crop gathered by rural workers completely covers internal requirements of the republic.
As the President of Bashkortostan underlined, sugar beet production still remains the profitable branch in the region.
Besides, in comparison with the beginning of the year the number of cattle grew in Bashkortostan by 4 %, sheep and goats – by 10 %, horses by 9 %. For this time in the republic it was made 1,5 million tons of milk, 290 thousand tons of cattle and poultry.
Meanwhile, despite growth of livestock yield, the republic is not among the leaders on this indicator in Russia. The main reasons are insufficient level of technological equipment of farms, and also low breeding and productive qualities of cattle.
It should be reminded that in order to modernise dairy-commodity farms, since spring 2012 realisation of the republican target-oriented program “500 farms” began in Bashkortostan. At the moment 60 agricultural enterprises became participants of the program. The total sum of the expenses connected with reconstruction of more than six tens of farms, exceeded three billion roubles.
This year it is planned to direct seven billion roubles without capital investments for development of republican agrarian and industrial complex. From them 4,2 billion come from the republican budget, 2,8 billion from the federal one. For today more than five billion roubles are already directed for agriculture development.
“In its state support Bashkortostan focuses on target-oriented programs. The total amount of financing of programs from federal and republican budgets reaches almost 300 million roubles,” the President of Bashkortostan informed.
At present 16 large projects are realised in agricultural sector RB in the most different directions for the total sum of 37 billion roubles. According to the President, «this work should be increased, raising the investment appeal of our territories, working «punctually» with investors».
