“Russia’s joining WTO was the right step” – the speaker of Russian Federation Council Valentine Matvienko stated during the widened meeting of Federation Council’s temporary commission for monitoring of Russian federation participation in WTO and Customs Union, held in Samara today – “But after we joined it, many of us don’t understand what our next step should be”.
According to Mrs. Matvienko a wide information work with all participants of the project has to be activated first. Besides, necessary steps for protection of all branches of economics should be undertaken both at federal and regional levels.
“We have to alter our legislation in order to make all segments of our economics competitive” – the speaker stated – “We have to think how to raise efficiency of our work and that’s why we’ve established the temporary commission for monitoring of Russia’s participation in WTO and Customs Union and this work has to be done jointly with the regions”.
It should be reminded that the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov and representatives of some republican ministries are also taking part in the meeting.
