The World Day of countrywomen is marked today, October 15. This day is called to remind the society to what extent it is obliged to countrywomen and how their labor is valuable. The idea to hold such day was proposed at the fourth UNO Feminine conference, held in Beijing in 1995.Holding of such day was considered as a practical way to public recognition and support of multisided role of countrywomen. Finally it was decided that the World Day of countrywomen would be celebrated every year on October 15. All festive arrangements are held taking the needs of countrywomen into account whether it is access to credits, IT or clear water.
Rural labor still remains very hard and social conditions in the countryside are still far from ideal. The Union of Women RB – the leading public feminine organization in the Republic – indicates that now it is necessary to direct all efforts, including state financing, to making favorable conditions for labor and rest of countrywomen, to protection of their health, to education of countrywomen and country girls and to raising the level of life of rural population.
