Bashkortostan celebrates Republic Day
On October 11 Republic of Bashkortostan celebrates its main holiday – the Republic Day. Honoring of the best toilers is traditionally dated to this holiday. Thus, presentation of Salavat Ulaev’s state awards in sphere of literature, art and architecture, state awards by Shagit Khudaiberdin for the best works in sphere of journalism, state Republican youth awards in sphere of science and technique, awarding of Republican contest of teachers of Bashkir language and literature and presentation of grants to the best young teachers RB have taken place on the eve of the holiday.
Several significant public-political events have also occurred on the eve of the Republic Day in Bashkortostan – the all-Russian scientific-practical conference “Historical experience and actual problems in development of Russian regional encyclopedian science” and presentation of the seventh final volume of the Bashkir encyclopedia, the round-table discussion “Political system RB at present stage”, presentation of the first two volumes of the many-volumed scientific edition “Modern political-transformational processes in Republic of Bashkortostan” and others.
The holiday’s cultural program includes international festival “Ufa is the city of friendship and unity”, festival of national cultures “The Wreath of Friendship” and Republican charitable marathon “Making Good Deeds Together”, which started in the town of Oktyabrsky.
Traditional solemn flower-laying ceremony to the Friendship Monument and the evening party, devoted to the Republic Day and to the Year of happy childhood and family values in RB, have taken place on October 9 in Ufa.
The President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov called the Republic Day the festival of love in native land, adherence to behests of forefathers, multinational friendship and unity during his speech at the solemn evening party.
Celebration of the Republic Day is as always accompanied with mass sports actions. Celebrities, devoted to the Republic Day, are held in all towns and regions RB.
