On October 8, the III Inter-Regional Ecological Forum started its work in Ufa. The same day, within the limits of the eco-forum opening of the ХVII specialised exhibition «Uralecology. Industrial safety-2012» took place.
On October 8-10, in Bashkortostan capital participants of the forum will discuss issues of production wastes and consumption management development, maintenance of industrial safety of hazardous industrial objects, water preparation and water consumption.
Bashkortostan takes the fourth place in the Volga Federal District on emissions into the atmosphere. Thus 64 percent from total amount of emissions fall on motor transport.
At the moment enterprises and companies of more than 200 industries, which activity negatively influences the environment, are located in the republic. Thus, only in 2011 the volume of polluting substances emissions into the atmospheric air from stationary sources exceeded 406 thousand tons.
Till the end of the year two mobile online air control laboratories will appear in Bashkortostan, Olga Lazdina, acting as the Minister of Nature Management and Ecology RB informs.
“31 more household waste landfills, and also 217 rubbish transfer sites and three rubbish recycling plants should be additionally constructed in the republic” Olga Lazdina underlines.
At the moment construction of four solid household waste landfills is conducted in the region. Design and exploration works are carried out on eight objects.
As Igor Karepanov, the Deputy Minister of Industry and Innovative Policy RB marks at the eco-forum, seven billion tons of industrial wastes are annually formed in Russia from which no more than two billion tons are recycled. It is annually allocated about 10 thousand hectares of arable land for landfills. It is already accumulated about 80 billion tons of only solid waste in the country territory.
The main volume of industrial wastes – up to 95 percent – falls on the mining operations enterprises.
Almost half of domestic copper deposits and third of zinc deposits are concentrated in the Southern Urals. The republic share in the general extraction of copper varies from 12 to 15 percent, zinc – 49 percent, Igor Karepanov marks.
Annually the branch enterprises form 11 million tons of industrial wastes which volume by present time has already exceeded one billion tons in Bashkortostan.
Recycling of the accumulated waste of the mining complex, including support rendering to new manufactures on processing of ownerless waste of mining enterprises can become a solution in the developed situation. It is important that work in all these directions is already begun in the region.
Improvement of ecological situation in the region and reduction of industrial waste volumes also can be essentially effected by modern technologies introduction at the mining-concentrating enterprises, by elaboration of the corresponding target-oriented program, Igor Karepanov considers.
