“Sober Village’ is the only project from Bashkortostan, which is included into the short list of all-Russian contest “Healthy Russia”. The project stands in Top10 of leaders by the number of votes in the nomination “The best regional project”. About 300 works in a whole take part in the contest.
This project, worked up by the regional public movement “Sober Bashkortostan”, has no analogues in Russia. The project “Sober Village” is aimed at attraction of villagers to sober and healthy way of life, at upbringing of younger generation and at its protection from alcoholism, tobacco and drug addiction.
99 villages from 41 Bashkir municipalities have taken part in the contest “Sober Village” in 2011. All villages are multinational. More than 30 settlements have reached the finals and 15 have become winners in various nominations. Three villages were announced the winners and received the rank “Sober Village”. All strong drinks, including beer, were removed from the shelves of the shops there, demographic situation became better, criminality went down and socially responsible business, free from gaining profits due to bad habits of population, started actually developing. Active villagers, advocating soberness, were rewarded.
