Russian State Duma approved the law concerning implementation of the united – once a year – vote day in the second Sunday of September. 293 deputies have voted for the bill, the site of Russian State Duma reports.
It means that the nearest elections in Russia will take place in October 2012 and all the next ones will be held in September.
Approval of this bill will result in alterations in the Republican legislation. The chairman of State Council RB Constantine Tolkachev called alteration of the Election Code one of the main bills to be considered during the autumn session.
“This is very important document” – he stated – “the decision-making concerning implementation of the united vote day will demand our quick reaction and it means that the Republican legislation has to be altered in accordance with the new law”.
