International forum, devoted to people of mature and elder age, started working in Ufa and politicians, scientists, economics and public activists are taking part in the conference “50 Plus: all pluses of mature age”.
It was stated at the plenary session that ageing of the mankind has recently become a global problem. This problem affects Russia in full measure: at present time about 50 million people older than 50 live in the country – one third of population. And the share of this group will grow every year. Are we ready for it? Will our society be able to transform itself and to provide old people with good life? These themes are under discussion in Ufa.
The President RB Rustem Khamitov has reported, welcoming the participants of the conference that this project was a part of the social initiative, which started last year with support of Russian Federation Council.
“It is remarkable that this forum is held here, in Bashkortostan. We regard our meeting as an excellent chance to learn the best world experience, scientific approaches and innovations in this sphere” – Rustem Khamitov said.
The President RB has added that the Republic does much for making life of old people really comfortable and safe.
“We have the programs, which help people to study, travel and cultivate their abilities, the programs, which help people moving forward, such as, for example, the program on social tourism, which started the last year”.
Many foreign experts are taking part in the conference and it isn’t accidentally because the West accumulated rather solid experience on adaptation of older generations to modern life.
Participants of the conference intend to pay serious attention to such spheres as quality of life and comfortable environment for elderly people.
