And let’s hope that at the forthcoming winter Games in Sochi Paralympic sportsmen of Bashkortostan will demonstrate the same high class, making our fans really happy” – the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov mentioned, talking to our Paralympic champions.
Honoring of champions, prize-winners and participants of the Paralympic Games-2012 in London has taken place in the Republic House on Thursday, September 13.
Russian national team has demonstrated the best result at these Games for the whole history of Russian Paralympic movement, winning the second place after the national team of China – 102 medals: 36 golden, 38 silver and 28 bronze ones.
Eight Bashkir sportsmen have won 17 medals at London Paralympic Games-2012: Oksana Savchenko – five golden medals (swimming), Alexander Nevolin-Svetov – one golden and three silver (swimming), Michael Zimin – one golden medal (swimming), Alexei Labzin – two golden and one silver medal (athletics), Elena Pautova – one golden medal (athletics), Andre Koptev — one golden medal (athletics), Anastasia Ovsyannikova – one golden medal (relay race 4X100) and Anna Sorokina – one silver medal (javelin throwing).
