Heroes – Paralympic champions of London-2012 arrived in Ufa
Participants and prize-winners of the XIV Paralympic Summer Games-2012 in London have landed in the airport “Ufa” at night on September 11-12.
Bashkir delegation was met by the Minister for youth policy and sport RB Andre Ivanuta, employees of his Ministry and Ufa administration, friends and relatives of the sportsmen and mass-media journalists – about 100 people in a whole.
Russian national team has been one of the most successful in London. Russian Paralympic sportsmen have won the second place (102 medals: 36 golden, 38 silver and 28 bronze medals) after Chinese team.
Eight sportsmen from Bashkortostan have won 17 medals in London (12 golden and 5 silver ones):
Oksana Savchenko- — five golden medals in swimming;
Alexander Nevolin-Svetov – one golden and three silver medals also in swimming;
Michael Zimin – golden medal (swimming);
Alexei Labzin – two golden and one silver medal in athletics;
Elena Pautova – golden medal (athletics);
Andre Koptev – golden medal (athletics, relay race);
Anastasia Ovsyannikova – golden medal (athletics);
Anna Sorokina – silver medal (javelin throwing).
