“Modernization of education and consolidation of human potential RB: tasks and solutions” – this was the theme of the “round table”, held in Ufa some days ago. This discussion, initiated by the commission for education, science and innovations of the Public Chamber RB and by the regional division of Russian Young Scientists Union in Bashkortostan, has taken place within the frames of the forthcoming III social forum “New social policy of Russia: a growing point”, which is to take place in Moscow on September 27-28.
Special attention was paid to state support of young scientists. The chairman of the commission for education, science and innovations Airat Nazyrov has mentioned that young specialists are widely attracted to science today but the scientific community faces some still unsolved problems, such as low interest of business in scientific researches – commissioning and usage of scientific novelties in everyday life still remain a big problem.
Here an important role should be played by innovational managers but Russia still faces serious shortage of such specialists.
In opinion of many participants of the “round table” even the best idea and the best project fail to bring an expected economic effect if there is a lack of professionals – managers, able to promote new ideas and to make such ideas a practical reality. The success of the majority of innovational projects depends upon professionalism and mastery of such people.
One more problem is the need in graduates. Students have a desire to study but later they stand before the wall. Where and how their knowledge can be applied? Here interaction between institutes and industrial enterprises and business are of paramount importance.
Participants of the “round table” have also discussed such problems as the rise of prestige of scientific activity, academic mobility, opportunities for probation periods abroad and integration in world science.
Materials of the “round table” will be used for preparation of a report at the Russian social forum.
