Representative of the National Library by Akhmet-Zaki Validi has taken part in the X international scientific-practical conference and in the exhibition “Corporate library systems: technologies and innovations”, held in Saint-Petersburg and Estonia and initiated by the non-commercial partnership “Association of Regional Library Consortiums” (ARBIKON). More than 300 specialists from 47 Russian cities and four foreign countries (the USA, Switzerland, Serbia and Germany) participated in work of the first part of the conference. The deputy director of the National Library RB Razil Bikbulatov presented Republic of Bashkortostan.
Participants of the conference marked high professional level of the introduced reports and novelty of themes, offered for discussion.
The executive director of “ARBIKON” Alexander Plemnek has expressed his opinion concerning actuality of participation of our representative in the conference.
“This conference is the only goal-oriented conference in the country and acquaintance with innovations and exchange of experience on new forms of libraries’ interaction for optimization of management and for the rise of quality of library services are considered its main priorities and since the National Library RB is the headend organization of the project “Corporate network of public libraries RB”, its employees should be well informed about the newest tendencies in this direction”.
Alexander Plemnek has also mentioned that ARBIKON membership opens wide opportunities for cooperation with great number of Russian and international libraries within the frames of various corporate projects. The idea of such cooperation is based on mutual solution of the tasks, which both libraries and readers are interested in. Participation in such projects, which by right received national status, is accessible not for any organization. At present time the National Library RB possesses all necessary attributes in order to stay in the list of members of this Russian corporate movement.
