Rustem Khamitov: «Ufa is ready to accept the International World Games of non-Olympic kinds of sports in 2021»
These days an official delegation of the International World Games Association and Committee on National and Non-Olympic Kinds of Sports (KNNVS) pays a visit to the capital of Bashkortostan. It includes the IWGA president Ron Froehlich, IWGA SEO Joachim Gossow, co-chairman of KNNVS Gennady Alyoshin and sports director George Petin. On Wednesday June 13, Bashkortostan President Rustem Khamitov welcomed visitors of the capital in the House of Republic.
The World Games of Non — Olympic kinds of sports will took place in 2021. The strongest sportsmen, world champions will take part in the competitions in those sports which are not included into the program of Olympic Games.
In January, 2012 the republican delegation was invited to the organising committee session in the city of Santiago de Cali (Colombia) on preparation and carrying out of World Games 2013. The presentation of Bashkortostan as a potential place of World Games carrying out in 2021 took place there.
In Ufa the today's meeting was devoted to discussion of organisation and carrying out issues of the Games 2021.
Rustem Khamitov underlined that the region has a wide experience in carrying out of large international competitions, and promised to improve the city infrastructure – to construct new and to reconstruct available sports objects and hotels.
The president of International World Games Association Ron Froehlich marked that all sports constructions of Ufa are in a good condition and he was impressed with the local nature. Ron Froehlich was concerned only about hotels – they are far from possibility to host a considerable quantity of sportsmen and visitors of the Games.
Issues of fully-featured coverage of the International Games in mass-media were discussed also.
KNNVS Co-chairman Gennady Alyoshin assured the present guests that Ufa is going to receive a comprehensive support of the Games organisation from the Sports ministry and Olympic Committee of Russia.
