Delegation of Bashkortostan left for Moscow for participation in the XIII congress of the political party “United Russia”. Delegation consists of 17 delegates plus heads of the party’s primary divisions.
Delegates, guests of the congress and experts will discuss proposals, incoming from Russian regions concerning problems of internal party democracy, competition and internal party discussions in Moscow on May 25. 200-250 people will be present in every section and three reports are planned – three representatives of every platform.
The congress itself will take place on May 26 and more than three thousand people expected to take part in its work: 671 delegates, about 1600 guests and representatives of 30 foreign delegations.
Manpower problems will become one of the main themes at the congress since all governing bodies are elected for the term of four years and now this term is close to expiry.
The question concerning the chairman of “United Russia” will become the central theme. On April 24 Vladimir Putin stated that he intended to resign after inauguration in the course of his meeting with the party’s leadership. Dmitry Medvedev agreed to become the leader of the party. He stated it on April 27, talking to “United Russia” activists.
On May 22 the Chairman of Russian Government has officially joined “United Russia”.
The work of “United Russia” congress will be covered by hundreds representatives of federal, regional and foreign mass-media.
