Bashkortostan signs three-sided agreement on attraction of investments
A cooperation agreement is signed today between Government RB, Russian Direct Investments Fund and the Agency of Strategic Initiatives. The document is signed in Ufa on May 16 by the President RB Rustem Khamitov, general director of Russian Direct Investments Fund Cyril Dmitriev and by the director of the direction “New Business” of the Agency of Strategic Initiatives Artem Avetisyan.
“Bashkortostan is actively working with foreign investors today but we constantly feel the necessity in friendly support, searching for stable partners in such projects and, sure, we hope that the Fund and the Agency will help us” – Rustem Khamitov stated – “Our Republic has excellent potential for placement of new big investment projects. We understand that attraction of investments is very hard work but we are already moving in this direction and the first steps are made. We’ve formed absolutely new legislation and investors may work on our territory, receiving plenty of tax preferences. Besides, we continue forming the investment infrastructure. Thus, our Investment Fund will be one more instrument for investors – in 2012 it will amount to 400 million rubles. In 2011 investments to the fixed capital have reached 185 billion rubles – by 5,5% more than in 2010. About 300 million US have been invested in Republican economics – three times more than in 2010. All investments are concentrated mainly in processing productions though earlier the key sums were registered in the sector of raw materials”.
The three-sided agreement was signed within the frames of a widened meeting in the Government RB, where several projects were introduced to the Fund and to the Agency, such as construction of a metallurgical center in Beloretsky region, organization of serial production of helicopter engines at UMPO, construction of a plant for manufacturing of snowmobiles, four-wheelers and off-road baggies and renovation of infrastructure in the international airport “Ufa”.
At present time 52 projects with the total volume of investments more than 300 billion rubles work in Bashkortostan. These projects will open about 40 thousand new workplaces. The total list includes about 180 big projects for the total sum of more than 500 billion rubles.
