The coordination committee for encouragement of social, educational, informational, cultural and other initiatives under the aegis of Russian Orthodox Church announced international open grant contest “Christian Initiative-2012”.
Both secular and religious organizations with the projects, based on real activity of people, directed at uniting of the society around Christian values, are invited. The contest will be held in four directions: education and rearing, social servicing, culture, informational activity. For participation in the contest one has to present a draft project on the site www.pravkonkurs.ru till June 8, 2012.
Totals of the first stage will be announced on July 30. Winners of the second stage will be announced before December 28, 2012. Financing of the projects will start beginning from February 10, 2013. In accordance with the contests’ terms realization of the project should take not more than nine months.

For the reference: the contest “Christian Initiative” is held since 2005 and initiated by the Charity Fund by Reverend Seraphim Sarovsky. In 2005 43 applications from four Russian regions have been submitted. 18 projects have been recommended for financing, the grant fund amounted to 1,4 million rubles. Within the period between 2005 and 2009 the fund has considered about 1500 applications and allocated 380 grants for the total sum 73 million rubles (representatives of 63 Russian regions of Russia and Ukraine have taken part in it).
