All-Russian conference of teachers of history and social studies “Teaching ethnic-cultural component in the context of Russian history”, devoted to the Year of Russian history, is held in Ufa on April 19-20. It is initiated by the Ministry for education and science of Russia, the Government of Bashkortostan, all-Russian public organization “Association of teachers of history and social studies”, Ufa Scientific Center under the Russian Academy of Sciences and by the Institute of sociological investigations by R.G. Kuzeev under Ufa Scientific Center.
Bashkortostan is considered one of the biggest poly-cultural regions of Russia, where wide positive experience in study of history and culture of aboriginal nations is accumulated, and that determined the choice of our Republic as a site for holding this conference. Scientists from Russian Academy of Sciences, pedagogues, authors of text-books and manuals, teachers of history and social studies from many Russian regions are taking part in work of the conference, discussing actual problems in formation of functionally competent and tolerant personality, ethnic-cultural component in teaching history and social studies, the use of cultural resources of Russian regions in study of history and in formation of all-Russian civil identity and study of history of Russian nations in general context of the history of Russian state.
