The all-Russian action “Green Weekend”, devoted to separated garbage collection and preservation of natural resources, started in the country under the aegis of “Greenpeace”. Any citizen of the country may join the action after registration on the site: www.greenweekend.ru.
The site of the first federal forestry new agency “GREENPRESS” reports the action will last till May 20 and within the frames of “green weekends” volunteers will clean territories of their settlements and bring garbage for further processing.
“Green Weekend” will be finished with a big ecological festival. It will take place in Moscow on May 20.
For the first time similar action has taken place in October 2011 and about 10 thousand people from 13 Russian towns have taken part in it. That time the volunteers have collected and sent more than 32 tons of garbage to processing.
