The Center of cosmic services will be opened in Bashkiria
Federal Space Agency will open a regional center of cosmic services in Ufa at the Bashkir State University on April 9 and Bashkortostan will become the sixth region of the country after Perm region, Tatarstan, Samara, Kirov and Nizhniy Novgorod region, where such center functions.
The plenipotentiary of the Federal Space Agency Vyacheslaw Bezborodov, representatives of the Moscow University of geodesy and cartography, the Bashkir State University and the Ufa State Aviation Technical University together with Republican VIPs will be invited to the solemn opening ceremony.
“The center of cosmic services was opened inside the Bashkir State University, so to say, in February 2012. But now it will be official presentation of the center on April 9 and the center will present its programs of innovational-educational direction without any compensation. The contract for transference of software between Federal Space Agency and the Bashkir State University is already signed” – the director of the center of cosmic services, candidate of technical sciences, docent of the University’s geographical faculty Shaikhil-Islam Kutushev reported to the news agency “Bashinform”.
The importance of the project is rather high because the range of services, offered by the center, is wide: acceptance, registration, processing, archiving and spreading of the information, obtained from space, with the use of Russian and foreign equipment for distant probing of the Earth. It is also important that so-called electronic government expected to be implemented also within the frames of the center. Other words, everything, occurring on the territory of Bashkortostan, for instance, floods, fires, road incidents etc – will be immediately sent to the President of Bashkortostan through space in real time mode.
