Rustem Khamitov has held a work meeting with delegation of Latvian Republic
On March 26 the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov has held a work meeting with delegation of Latvian Republic, headed by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Latvia in Russian Federation Edgars Skua, the public affairs service of the President RB reported.
In the course of the meeting the parties were discussing problems of increase of commodity circulation between Latvia and Bashkortostan and promising directions in mutual cooperation.
Rustem Khamitov has acquainted the Ambassador of Latvia with the work balance of the Republic in 2011. As the President RB said, Republican leadership actively works on development of such new for the Republic branches as light industry and tourism. Besides, Bashkortostan is busy with forming of a new legislation in sphere of attraction of investors.
“We offer serious preferences to investors, who come to us, build new plants and open new workplaces. Today we are standing in one line with other well-developed territories of Russia in this sphere and will continue this activity in the future. Today we are found in the Top10 of Russian regions from the point of view of attraction of investments and innovational production and it is important for us now to make work conditions for investors really good and transparent. We position our Government as open, frank and not spoiled with corruption. For today more and more investors both in the country and in the world consider Bashkortostan as a good site for placement of their resources”.
More than one and a half thousand Letts live in Bashkortostan today and according to the President RB the region conducts well-balanced national policy.
“We help local Letts and will help them further. Not long ago I’ve visited the Latvian historical-cultural center and we’ve agreed that in 2012 we will repair and put Latvian Culture House into exploitation. This work will be done in 2012” – Rustem Khamitov stated.
M-R Edgars Skua believes that there are some direction of cooperation between Bashkortostan and Latvia, which can be called well-developed already now.
“Latvia says many thanks to Republic of Bashkortostan for its position to Letts, living here. They feel themselves here quite good and they are completely integrated into local society. Latvian school works in Arkhangelsky region of Bashkortostan and it would have been impossible without support of the President RB and Republican leadership. We have to say special thanks for that”.
