On March 23 the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov has met the delegation of Socialist Republic of Vietnam with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam in Russia Fam Suan Sean.

The public affairs service of the President RB reports during the meeting the parties were negotiating the problems of increase of commodity circulation between Vietnam and Bashkortostan and consolidation of cultural relations.

Rustem Khamitov highlighted the most promising directions for joint cooperation – machine-building, oil-gas and mining industry, power engineering and business undertakings in scientific sphere.

“As for our relations with Vietnam, sure, these relations aren’t developed well enough. In 2011 the volume of trade turnover between us failed to reach even one million USD, though this figure was equal to 20 million in 2010. Nonetheless we go on actively working with Vietnamese companies. More than 60 joint ventures work on our territory with participation of Vietnamese companies. More than 70 students and post-graduates study at our institutes, so we have a good base for moving forward” – Rustem Khamitov mentioned.

He offered several directions for mutual cooperation to Vietnamese delegation.

“First of all, this is our machine-building: for example, helicopters, produced in Kumertau, 200 kilometers from Ufa, some goods produced by our plant of elastomeric materials, electric and hydroelectric stations, produced by our enterprises etc”.

“We are open for dialogue and would like to see our relations in progress. We want our business to cooperate with your business companies and industrial enterprises. Our country always helped Vietnam earlier. That’s why we work jointly now and we will be happy to work together in the future” – the President of Bashkortostan stated.

“We see great potential for cooperation. Relations between Vietnam and Russia develop very efficiently in all directions now – political and economic cooperation, cooperation in sphere of defense and security and in international sphere” – the Vietnamese diplomat said.
