International Turk culture organization (TURKSOY) initiated wide celebration of the spring holiday Navruz in Turkey. About 250 artists from different countries are participating in it and the representative of Bashkortostan in TURKSOY Akhat Salikhov reports that dancers, singers and musicians from Kazakhstan, Kirghizia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Russian regions – Altai, Bashkortostan, Tuva, Khakassia, Chuvashia, Dagestan and others – are taking part in the celebrities.
Heads of delegations and representatives of foreign groups were received by the President of Turkish Republic Abdulla Gulem, the speaker of the Turkish Parliament Jamil Chichek, Minister for culture and tourism of Turkey Ertugrul Gunay and TURKSOY General Secretary Dusen Kaseinov.
Solemn Navruz ceremonies, held in Istanbul and Ankara, will be continued in other Turkish towns.
The celebrities are initiated by TURKSOY with assistance of ministries for cultures – members and members-observers of TURKSOY, the Cooperation Foundation under Turkish Government, Turk Municipalities Union and Turkish town administrations and universities.
As it is known, in 2009 Navruz was included into the UNESCO list of non-material cultural heritage of the mankind. The United Nations Organizations declared the 21st of March the International Day of Navruz in 2010. Same year TURKSOY has organized Navruz celebrities in UNESCO Headquarters in Paris and in 2011 – in the headquarters of UNO General Secretariat (New-York, the USA).
