“Megaphone” summed up the totals of the program for struggle with mobile cheating in 2011, introduced its forecasts-2012 and the complex of measures for protection of clients from new kinds of cheating, connected with computer viruses and spam.
“Megaphone” specialists have processed about 65000 complaints of its clients concerning the facts, which can be regarded as fraud. Automation of search and recovery of losses to all subscribers, suffering the cases of fraud with “short” phone numbers, have become new novelties in the company’s policy.
“At present time along with processing of the subscribers’ complaints the company reveals the victims of mobile fraud and pays money back to every user, irrespective of did the victims complain of such cases of fraud or not. In 2011 we’ve returned 9 million rubles to the subscribers, which have become the victims of frauds with “short” numbers” – the head of “Megaphone” dept for struggle with frauds Sergey Khrenov says.
“Megaphone” determined the priorities in struggle with mobile cheating in 2012. Thus, the cheaters started to pay more attention to the use of malicious software – both for mobile units and PC. In order to prevent possible risks and losses “Megaphone” attracts the experts of the leading Russian anti-virus companies – such as “Doctor Web” and “Kaspersky Laboratory”. Within the frames of such cooperation the company launched daily operative information exchange, able to zero tariffing of the traffic, generated by malicious software without knowledge of subscriber. Besides, joint actions let the company block the numbers, used by the cheaters when infecting personal computers with Trojan Winlock and squeezing money from users for unblocking their PCs. In 2012 “Megaphone” intends to launch the antispam-system, able to filter and block malicious messages.
