The first in the history of the city conference, devoted to the problem of homeless animals will take place in Ufa on Thursday, February 16. It is organized by “United Russia Young Guardians” regional division under the Bashkir State Medical University and by the Bashkir Lawyers Association.
This problem can be easily called many-sided and one of these sides is too many homeless domestic animals in the streets of the city. Some people compassionate and some-fear and both parties are right because homeless animals mustn’t be present in our streets.
“The second problem is the anti-humane way of solving this problem, widely practicing in Ufa – shooting of homeless animals, using the neuromuscular relaxant, causing agonizing and rather long-term death. Though about 14 thousand homeless dogs are shot every year in our streets, the number of these dogs doesn’t go down and one of the main reasons is the absence of a humane and really working program for reducing the number of homeless animals in the city, which analogues are long ago adopted in Europe and in some cities of Russia” – the head of “United Russia Young Guardians” under the Bashkir State Medical University Lilia Kurbanova says.
Any person may take part in the conference, which is appointed on February 16, at 16 o’ clock in the sports center of the Bashkir State Medical University. The e-mail address is: firstname.lastname@example.org. The information is also available on the conference page in www.vkontakte.ru.
