On January 9 the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov has held a work meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Armenia in Russia Oleg Esayan and with the members of official delegation of Armenia, arriving in the Republic.
“We are really interested in consolidation of relations with your state and even make something for that, say, in humanitarian sphere” – the President RB mentioned.
He has said that there are quite serious intentions in sphere of economic cooperation too.
“Our enterprises deliver fuel and chemicals for Armenia and we have to make our cooperation closer. We are ready to discuss any variants of such work” – he stated.
The President RB has reported that various Armenian organizations, teaching Armenian language at schools, work in Bashkortostan and these traditions will be continued.
“More than 10 thousand Armenians live here and we shall do everything to make the conditions for preservation of Armenian language and culture maximally comfortable. This activity will be continued”. After that the President RB shared his plans concerning visit to Armenia in order to discuss the prospects of future cooperation in details.
Oleg Esayan has expressed many thanks to the President RB for the honor to visit Bashkortostan and for the audience.
“Before this trip I started learning more materials about Bashkortostan. We know that at present moment our relations can’t satisfy both parties and these relations meet neither our demands nor our opportunities. The overall volume of our trade with Russia amounts to more than one billion dollars and only four million fall on the share of your Republic, though Bashkortostan is considered one of the most important Russian regions. Our relations have to be improved” – the diplomat stated.
For the reference: for 11 months 2011 the external trade turnover between Bashkortostan and Armenia amounted to 1,8 million USD. Bashkortostan delivers diesel fuel and motor oils for Armenia and in its turn buys building materials there. Three joint ventures with Armenian capitals are registered on the territory RB at present time.
