The biosphere reserve “Bashkir Ural” will be opened in Republic of Bashkortostan, the Minister for nature management and ecology RB Azat Kutliakhmetov reported today.
“We’ve prepared the application to the address of UNESCO Russian committee concerning opening of the biosphere reserve “Bashkir Ural” – he reported – “In February our application has to be considered in UNESCO headquarters in Paris and according to preliminary information it will be approved. We have to receive a corresponding certificate in June. It will be the 46th object in Russia and the first in Ural zone”
It is expected that its staff will consist of five natural territories of the Republic, protected by the law: the state natural reserve “SHULGAN-TASH”, the national park “Bashkiria”, the natural park “MURADYMOVSKY Canyon”, the natural wildlife preserve “ALTYN SOLOK” and the zoo preserve “IKSKY”.
