Liquidation doesn’t threaten the Bashkir customs but certain staff reduction is quite possible in the nearest future, the head of the Bashkir customs Valerie Byshovets stated today in the course of the press-conference, devoted to the work balance of the customs RB in 2011.
The question concerning liquidation of the regional customs offices, including the Bashkir one, was raised in connection with carrying the customs control over to the external borders of three states – the members of the Customs Union – since July 1, 2011. Because of this novelty 35 internal customs stations have been liquidated in Russia, including 10 – in sphere of activity of the Volga customs department, which staff included the Bashkir customs office too.
As M-r Byshovets said, customs business represents very wide range of various spheres of law. There are plenty of various customs procedures, connected both with import and export, and it is impossible to transfer all these procedures to the external borders of the country.
“We don’t talk about complete liquidation of the Bashkir customs” – he stated – “Several small customs have been liquidated in Volga federal district through merger. Now these big customs offices are considered the regional customs stations. At present time there are seven customs stations in Bashkortostan, located in the centers of external trade flows”.
At the same time about 20% of the customs officers will be reduced in the course of 2012-2014. At present time the staff of the Bashkir customs consists of 500 people but it is still unknown how many of them will be discharged.
