The natives of Bashkiria – the Minister for economic development of Russia Elvira Nabiullina and popular rock-singer Zemfira Ramazanova – are included into the Top 100 of the most influential women of Russia. The rating was composed by the radio station “The Echo of Moscow” with the assistance of RIA “NOVOSTI”, the magazine “OGONEK” and the news agency “INTERFAX”.

The list of the most influential women of Russia was never composed before, so before making the rating the radio station “The Echo of Moscow” launched several program in order to find out what exactly the notion “consequence” meant.

As a result the list includes the women, really influencing upon decision-making in spheres of politics and business, occupying high posts, and the women, determining the frames of mind in the society, being the examples for matched-dependent behavior. Besides, the rating-makers decided not to divide those women, being influential due to the posts they occupy, and, say, the wives of influential men. All these women turned out to be in one rating.

The list was formed step-by-step in several stages. The listeners of “The Echo of Moscow” sent their proposals on the nominees. The journalists of the radio station have chosen 150 names of more than 250.

After that the expert jury started working with the rating and they estimated the list with the help of the 20-point scale. Every expert guided himself by his own vision concerning consequence of this or that woman. All assessments were made anonymously.

Besides, the news agency “INTERFAX” has prepared the rating of mentioning of all 100 women by Russian mass-media especially for this project (within the period between January 1, 2011 and January 16, 2012). The rating was made on the base of the database “Scan”, containing more than 4000 sources of information: newspapers, magazines, news agencies, TV and radio programs and online mass-media in Russia and CIS.
