On January 26 the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov has held a work meeting with the head of the Federal Service for Labor and Employment Uri Gertsia. According to information, presented by the public affairs service of the President RB, the parties were discussing problems of population employment and realization of supervisory powers in sphere of labor legislation.

Talking about unemployment in the region the President RB said that “the situation is steadily becoming better. We are able to solve this problem self-dependently, opening new workplaces, and today we can say that the peak of the problem is left behind”.

At the same time the President RB admitted that by the level of wages the republic still fails to reach the all-Russian average level, especially in the countryside. Agrarians make up 40% of the Republican population.

Rustem Khamitov has also shared the plans for development of agriculture, which in his opinion considered the most problematic branch. “We clearly see in what direction we should move further: industrialization of agriculture, big agricultural centers and big enterprises for agricultural output processing – this is what we really need today” – he underscored.

The head of the Federal Service for Labor and Employment has mentioned in his turn that “the Republic, employment services and state labor inspections, working here, are in good repute. We understand that your region is rather problematic from the point of view of economic development and other constituents and also from the point of view of the state employment service. By population you are on the first place and Altai and Dagestan go behind. You have the largest number of employment centers, so we pay close attention to the quality of state services in this sphere” – Uri Gertsia said.
