The Ancient Christian Patriarch of Moscow and Russia Alexander arrived in Bashkiria. He intends to take part in consecration of the new church, erected in the honor of Basil the Great in the town of Sterlitamac. This big five-dome church was erected on private donations. The bells for it were molded in Zlatoust.
The consecration ceremony for the bells will start at noon. In the second half of the day the Patriarch will take part in consecration of the church.
The Patriarch Alexander is considered the head of the Russian Ancient Christian Church, working in parallel with the Russian Orthodox Christian Church in the country. The eparchies, monasteries and parishes, located not just on the territory of Russia but also in Kazakhstan, Byelorussia, Georgia, Romania, in some European countries and in America are found within its jurisdiction.
