Turkish town of Gaziantep can become a twin town of Ufa
The Representative Office of Bashkortostan in Turkey has held several meetings in the Turkish town of Gaziantep, the representative RB under the Russian Trade Delegates in Turkey Kanshaubi Miziev reported to "Bashinform". Cooperation and investigation of industrial and cultural potential of the region was the main goal of the visit. Participants of Bashkir delegation intended to visit the biggest industrial zone in Turkey. They were also interested in attraction of investments from this zone to Bashkortostan and in advancement of Bashkir goods to the local market.
The Governor of Gaziantep Asym Guzelbey told about the town and expressed the desire to establish mutually beneficial cooperation with Ufa.
For the reference: Gaziantep is considered one of the most developed industrial regions of Turkey, mainly in the private sector. Production of cotton, carpets, flour, farina, macaroni, vegetable oil, plastic wares and detergent are the main industrial branches here as well as leather and food productions.
Gaziantep is a big trade center in Turkey. Export makes up 13% of the whole trade in this country and the share of Gaziantep makes up 90% of production and sales of pistachio, 85% of production and sales of dry fruits, 60% of production and export of macaroni and 45% of production and sales of cotton yarn.
The biggest industrial zone, consisting of more than 900 enterprises, is also found in Gaziantep.
