The first plenary gathering of the Russian State Duma of the sixth convocation has taken place in Moscow.

The deputies, elected from Bashkortostan, headed two State Duma committees. Paul Krasheninnikov will head the committee for civil, criminal, arbitrary and remedial legislation, as before, and Alexander Degtyarev will head the committee for education.

Sergey Naryshkin became the chairman of the State Duma.

Besides, the deputies determined the number of the committees as well as their staff. 29 committees will work in the new State Duma instead of 32, as it was earlier.
