The official delegation from Finland, headed by the Minister for affairs of Europe and foreign trade of Finland Alexander Stubb, will arrive in Ufa on December 13. The staff of the Finnish delegation includes the Ambassador of Finland in Russia Matti Antonnen, employees of Finnish ministries and agencies and representatives of business circles.
During two days the foreign guests will hold meetings with the leadership RB, will visit the technical institutes of Ufa and will take part in negotiations with Bashkir business partners. The exchange of business contacts will take place in the Congress-Hall on December 13. The gathering of the joint Finnish-Bashkir workgroup will be held also in the Congress-Hall on December 14.
For the reference: in 2010 the external trade circulation between Bashkortostan and Finland made up 235 million dollars: 227,9 million dollars – export and 7,1 million USD – import. For nine months of 2011 the amount of the bilateral trade made up 146,2 million USD. In January-September 2011 Finland was found on the 17th position with the 1,4%-share in the Bashkir trade circulation structure. The following groups of wares prevail in the structure of Bashkir export: chemicals (butyl and isobutyl alcohol, technical acetone, hydrocarbons, styrene, soda ash, natrium hydrocarbonate) and fuel-energy goods. Ferrous metals and metal wares dominate in the import as well as oil and oil products, paper, chemicals, machines, equipment and transport vehicles.
At present time the inflow of investments from Finland is practically absent. On October 1, 2011, the economics RB accumulated foreign investments from this state for the sum of 36 thousand USD. Three joint ventures with the participation of Finnish companies are established on the territory of Bashkortostan, working in sphere of wholesale trade and timber industry.
On October 19, 2011, the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov has held a work meeting with the delegation of the Finnish concern “Sampo-Rosenlew Ltd” with its general director Yali Prikhti at the head. This company is considered one of the world producers of agricultural machinery.
