«United Russia” nominated the candidature of Vladimir Putin for the post of the President of Russia
The delegates of “United Russia” congress unanimously nominated Vladimir Putin as a candidate for the post of the President of Russia at the presidential elections on March 4, 2012.
“Russia needs clever and strong leader, able not just to protect the rights of our citizens but remind them of their obligations and Vladimir Putin is precisely such man” — the film director and national artist of Russia Stanislaw Govorukhin said.
The chairman of the all-Russian public organization “Business Russia” Boris Titov mentioned that the business circles of the country were discussing for a long time whose candidature they should vote for and made the decision to support Vladimir Putin.
The President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev also declared for Vladimir Putin.
“According to my proposal we are nominating Vladimir Putin for the post of the President of Russia today” — he said — “Thereby we determine our political strategy for a long period of time finally and absolutely officially. We declare whom we appreciate most of all, not trying to cheat anybody. The names are called, the program is formulated and the dates of the State Duma and Presidential elections are well-known but only people can estimate our plans and to determine who deserves the highest trust”.
Vladimir Putin accepted the proposal to be nominated for the post of the President of Russia and said that the forthcoming State Duma and later presidential elections would entail practically full renovation of the federal authority in the country. His candidature was supported unanimously as a result of the secret ballot.
