The question concerning erection of a nuclear power plant in Agidel is still open

author: Eugene Rakhimkulov

The question concerning erection of a nuclear power plant in the town of Agidel is still open, the President RB Rustem Khamitov reported during the talk with the citizens of the town.

According to him the federal corporation “ROSATOM”, which the incomplete construction belongs to, doesn't intend to transfer the object either in the municipal or in the Republican possession. If it had happened, the leadership RB would have been able to correct the situation. The long-term plans  of the corporation include the erection of a nuclear power plant in the town of Agidel but nobody knows when it has to begin and will the object be launched at all since the situation about nuclear power plants can't be called easy because of the recent tragedy at the plant “Fukushima” in Japan.

Bashkortostan comes out with the initiative to open a techno-park on the territory of the incomplete nuclear power plant but, as Rustem Khamitov said, nobody wants to work there on the lease terms for the period of 10 years, especially in case of the force-major situation, when “ROSATOM” will suddenly decide to resume the construction. But now “ROSATOM” authorities avoid giving direct answers.”This uncertainty is the worst thing of all” — the head of the Republic mentioned. At the same time he said that the town of Agidel possessed many other competitive advantages, such as the way to the big water arteries and the possibility to erect a big river port here.
