author: Ludmila Ternovaya

The chairman of the Youth Chamber under the State Council-Kurultay-RB Nikolai Samoilenko offered the bill “Protection of population from the after-effects of tobacco smoking” to consideration by the colleagues at the field gathering of the Youth Public Chamber under the State Duma of Russia, held in Nalchik.

The bill was supported by the deputy chairman of the Russian State Duma Svetlana Zurova and by the Youth Parliament's Council under the State Duma. The bill presumes the measures for restriction of smoking in public places – cafes, bars and restaurants. The authors of the bill intend that special places for smoking, equipped with good ventilation systems, should be allocated at such institutions.

For the reference: youth parliaments function in 78 Russian regions and about 20 thousand people take part in the youth parliamentary movement for today. Some initiatives, advanced by the youth parliamentarians, are found under consideration by various State Duma committees now.
