International OSCE observers started working in Bashkortostan

The representatives of OSCE Agency for Democratic Institutes and Human Rights Joseph Lloyd Warrell (the Great Britain) and Dovile Stockevichute (Lithuania), accredited by the Russian Central Election Committee as international observers, arrived in Bashkortostan. Here they will become acquainted with the activity of election commissions, responsible for preparation and holding of the forthcoming State Duma elections, and will meet the representatives of the political parties, public organizations and mass-media.

The international observers have taken part in the meeting of the Central Election Commission RB, where the schedule of free TV and radio time distribution between the regional groups of candidates  and the protocols of the casting of lots for the press publications were approved. The texts of the bulletins for voting at the State Duma elections in Bashkir and Tatar languages were approved here too. As it is known, the bulletins in three languages – Russian, Bashkir and Tatar – are used for the elections in Republic of Bashkortostan.

For the reference: the long-term mission of OBSCE Agency for Democratic Institutes and Human Rights started working in Russia. According to RIA “NOVOSTI” 40 experts from 13 countries are found in the country now. Other 42 experts will arrive in Russia later and they will stay here till the middle of December. Other 160 experts will arrive in the country before the State Duma elections and they will control the process of voting, the calculation of votes and summing up of the election's results.
