On October 19 the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov held a business meeting with the delegation of the Finnish concern “Sampo-Rosenlew Ltd”, headed by the general director of the concern Yali Prikhti. The concern is considered one of the well-known producers of reaping machinery in Europe.
In the course of the negotiations the questions concerning deliveries of the reaping machinery, made in Finland, for Bashkortostan as well as the prospects in production of “Sampo-Rosenlew” harvesters on the territory of Bashkortostan were under consideration, the public affairs service of the President RB reports.
“I'm happy to welcome you in Ufa – the capital of Bashkortostan, As you know, our Republic is considered one of the biggest regions in Russian Federation, having well-developed agriculture. 40% of our population live in the countryside and in the nearest future it will remain so, we don't yet face the processes of urbanization here. Sure, we have to think how to provide one million 600 thousand people, living in the countryside, with jobs. Food production is a good business and we have to make it modern. We have to supply our farmings with good reaping machinery and this is very important aim for us” — Rustem Khamitov mentioned.
“We are facing serious shortage of agricultural machinery, especially harvesters and tractors. We need other 1,5 thousand harvesters to cope with the harvest on the fields we have on our territory. We want to widen sowing areas. At present time grain meets stable demand by cattle-breeding, for export and by other branches. We want to produce 3-3,5 million tons of grain every year, irrespective of weather conditions, but for that we must have good harvesters, so your visit here has good prospects . We need the site where this machinery can be assembled, we need new workplaces and new taxes and we'd like to see such productions on our territory” — the President RB stated.
Yali Prikhti said thanks to Rustem Khamitov for this meeting.
“It's a high privilege for us. I present the company “Sampo-Rosenlew” — a producer of grain harvesters. We are deeply interested in widening of our activity. In the course of time we were analyzing the Russian market and, as we found out, there was an understanding of agriculture in Bashkortostan. We decided to analyze the market of Bashkortostan. We've learned various opportunities for opening our business here, in your region. As we understood, agriculture covers the major part of the territory in your Republic, with good conditions in logistics and solid knowledge in industry” — the Finnish businessman said — “We are interested in analysis of various opportunities and will be glad to organize production of harvesters here. At that we don't mean just the assembly but the full production cycle at local enterprises. Our main idea is that we are ready to offer to produce our harvesters at local enterprises and not the old models but the new ones, which already proved to be highly-productive and reliable in the world. The final product should be manufactured here with the same quality, similar to what we have in Finland and it means we need stable partners here. We have to train your workers and we will need a base for launching our productions in the Republic” — the head of the concern “Sampo-Rosenlew” concluded.
