The Archbishop of Ufa and Sterlitamac, the head of Ufa Eparchy Nikon expressed concern regarding demoralization of our society, taking the floor before the delegates of the II Congress of Russians RB, held in Ufa today.

“It is prohibited to sell drinks and cigarettes to minors and it is good “– he mentioned – “But why nobody worries about numerous sex advertisements, which can be easily found in our free newspapers?”.

The archbishop offers to put a question before our law-enforcement bodies concerning total prohibition of such advertisements and severe penalties for those, who publish these advertisements in newspapers.

Besides, the archbishop suggested that the basics of religious cultures and secular ethics should be included into the school curriculums.

“In 19 Russian regions this subject is studied on the experimental level but not in Bashkiria” – the archbishop mentioned – “I appeal to the representatives of the Ministry of education with the proposal to determine strict position with respect to this urgent problem”.
