Rimma Utyasheva: “We live together and used to respect religion and traditions of each other”

The initiative of the President RB Rustem Khamitov to announce the Muslim fests Uraza-Bayram and Kurgan-Bayram the days off caused wide public response in Bashkortostan. The President of Bashkortostan stated about that on September 24, commenting upon the decision of the Russian Supreme Court, which considered the clauses of the Republican law concerning announcement of Uraza-Bayram and Kurgan-Bayram the days off contradictory to the federal legislation.

“ I fully support the initiative, advanced by the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov” – the deputy chairman of the state committee for budget, taxes, finances and property issues RB, honorable doctor of Bashkortostan Rimma Utyasheva said to “Bashinform” – “If the whole country celebrates Christmas, why the Muslim holidays cause suspicions and apprehension? We mustn’t search for any manifestations of Vahhabism, where it is absent. In this case we cause the problems artificially. We live in the poly-confessional state, so we have to respect the beliefs of each other, moreover Islam is preached by the majority of the population in Bashkortostan. We live together ad used to respect religion and traditions of each other and there is no need trying to separate us”.
