Delegation of Bashkortostan visited the Federal University in Kazan

The official delegation of Bashkortostan, headed by the President RB Rustem Khamitov and found in Tatarstan today, visited the Kazan (Volga) Federal University. During the visit Rustem Khamitov and the President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov inspected the museum of this oldest education institution in Volga zone.

The Kazan University was founded in 1804 by Alexander the Emperor. The members of the delegation became acquainted with the University’s Charter and the constituent documents. Thus, Sergey Aksakov stands in the lists of the first students under the 33rd number. Rustem Khamitov learned the names of the famous graduates of this University: academicians Bekhterev, Vichnevsky and others. The petition of Leo Tolstoy to the name of the rector Nikolai Lobatchevsky to admit him to the entrance exams to the Kazan University is also found here under the glass. The drop of the first Tatar oil, mined here in 1943, is also kept by the University’s museum. And the drop of the three billionth ton of oil, mined in Tatarstan in 2007, is kept here too.

After the end of the visit to the Kazan University the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov has left the memorable writing in the book of the honorable guests.
