The Minister of sport, tourism and youth policy of Russia Vitali Mutko has visited the exhibition “Modern sport: innovations and prospects” on the first day of the international sports forum “Russia is a Sporting State”, held in Saransk on September 8-11. Bashkortostan was one of the first Russian regions, which exposition attracted his attention. Here the representatives of Bashkir delegation told the Minister about development of basic and Paralympic kinds of sport in the region.
According to M-r Mutko he is excellently familiar with the successes of Bashkir sportsmen. He presented medals and diplomas to many of them personally. At the exhibition he had a friendly talk with the thirteenth-fold Paralympic champion in track and field athletics Rimma Batalova. “I pin high hopes on development of Paralympic sport in Bashkortostan and much depends on your efforts and your great experience and deep knowledge of the peculiarities of Paralympic track and field athletics and high authority in the world sport will help to make the best ideas for development of Paralympic movement a reality. Construction of the Paralympic center deserves special attention. Let us struggle for sport together!” – The Minister offered to our titled compatriot.
