In 2010 every citizen of Bashkiria has drunk about 300 kg of milk, or more exactly – 298,3 kg. This is the data of the sampling, made by Bashkir statisticians among urban and rural population RB. This is the highest index of milk consumption in Volga federal district. The citizens of Penza region are the nearest pretenders but every month they drink one kilogram of milk less than in Bashkortostan.
At that milk becomes more and more popular every year. Thus, in 2009 every citizen drank 275,5 kg of milk and in 2010 – already 298,3 kg.
The average all-Russian indices of milk consumption are much lower. According to the official statistics only 256 kg of milk fell on every Russian citizen in 2009. In 2010 this showing was even lower. The head of the Russian Agency for Health and Consumer Rights Gennady Onishenko has stated at the recent press-conference in Moscow that “Russians drink not enough milk – the figure should be 360 liters per year and we have just 220-240”.
