Rustem Khamitov has held a meeting with the Consul General of Iran in Kazan Rasul Shayan
On September 1 the meeting of the President RB Rustem Khamitov with the Consul General of Islamic Republic of Iran in Kazan Rasul Shayan has taken place in the Republic House. The parties were discussing the prospects of trade-economic relations of Bashkortostan with Iran, the public affairs service of the President RB reports.
Rustem Khamitov acquainted Rasul Shayan with the economic situation in Bashkortostan and with the tendencies in development of industrial and agrarian production. The President RB also characterized the relations between our Republic and Iran.
“Our external trade turnover isn’t yet high enough – slightly more than 70 million USD in 2010” – Rustem Khamitov mentioned – “We’ve finished the first half of the year with the result about 40 million dollars but it was mainly the export from Bashkiria. We practically don’t buy the goods from Iran. It would be desirable to raise the volumes of our interaction, making our relations mutually beneficial and really useful”.
The President RB suggested that the trip of Iranian business circles to Bashkortostan should be organized and, correspondingly, the trip of Bashkir specialists to Iran should be organized too in order to establish mutually beneficial trade relations. Rustem Khamitov accentuated the attention of the Consul General on very progressive sanatorium-and-spa system in Bashkortostan and expressed hope that his visit would become a further advancement of our relations on a new level.
Rasul Shayan expressed readiness to development of cooperation in sphere of economics.
‘When I was talking to our Ambassador in Moscow he sent his regards to you and suggested that we should discuss these problems together. We may have rather profitable cooperation in the oil branch, for instance” – the Consul General of Iran in Kazan underscored.
